Pakistan Army Taekwondo Team along with Pak Army Contingent will participate in 5th CISM World Military Games at Rio, Brazil. The games will be held from 16 to 24 July 2011. The detail of Army Taekwondo Contingent I as under:-
Pakistan Taekwondo Team will participate in World Qualification Tournament for London Olympics 2012 which will be held from 30 June to 3 July 2011 at Baku, Azerbaijan.
2011 WTF World Taekwondo Championship was conducted by KTA (Korean Taekwondo Association) in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province for a six day run. Biannual event hosted by World Taekwondo Governing body has draw a record number of about 1,700 participants including 1040 athletes around 149 countries. 3 x Male players participated from Pakistan in this Championship.
5th Commonwealth International Taekwondo Championship was held from 26 to 28 January 2011 at Chennai, India. The detail of participating countries are as under:-
Australia, Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Malaysia, Scotland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Zambia.
The overall results of Pakistani Team are as under:-
- In Individual Poomsae Mr Muhammad Ramzan has awarded Bronze Medal.
- In Group Poomsae Muhammad Khan, Ansar Mahmood and Muhammad Ramzan respectively won Bronze Medals.
- Miss Najia Khan fight in -73 KG (Senior Female Category) shown excellent performance and won Bronze Medal.
- Miss Samiya Imdad (WAPDA) fight in – 53 KG (Senior Female Category) shown excellent performance and awarded Bronze Medal.
It is further added that Secretary Sports during his telephonic conversation with Mr Itfikhar Ahmed Tabassum, President Pakistan Taekwondo Federation has congratulate the Pakistani Team and announced Rs.1,000,000/- to each medal winners for their outstanding performance during the said championship.
31st National Games (Taekwondo Event) held from 26th to 30th December 2010 at Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad under the supervision of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation. The teams participated in this games were Army, WAPDA, Railways, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Sindh, Balochistan, Police, AJK, FATA, and Punjab.
7th Gyeongsangnam-Do-Goveror International Taekwondo Championship which was conducted from 9th to 13th September 2010 at Kojea, South Korea. 3 x Male and 3 x Female players participated from Pakistan and won 1 x Silver and 3 x Bronze Medals in this Championship.
6th Korea Open International Taekwondo Championship was held in Gumi, South Korea from 1 to 7 September 2010 under the supervision of Korea Taekwondo Association, duly sanction by World Taekwondo Federation. Total 44 countries have attended the said mega event in which 1500 athletes participated. 3 x Male and 3 x Female players participated from Pakistan and won 1 x Silver and 3 x Bronze Medals in this Championship.
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) has organized 7th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship from 6th to 10th August 2010 At Army Sports Gymnasium, Rawalpindi. The teams participated in this championship are Army, WAPDA, Railways, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Sindh, Balochistan, Police, AJK, FATA, Northern Area, Police and Punjab. Pakistan Army dominates his last six years lead and won the championship by a remarkable margin
The Chief Guest on Closing Ceremony of the championship is Mr Mansoor Sohail, Federal Secretary of Information and Broadcasting.
